New Year… New Profile!

A Good Copybook Company Profile

January is traditionally the time when people think about improving their lifestyles, starting diets, joining the gym and generally shaping a ‘new and improved’ self.

Well, why not apply this logic to your Copybook profile?

A lot of companies fall into the habit of putting the same, or very similar, content up on multiple directory sites because it saves time. However, this is a very bad practice to get into, as duplicated and rehashed content just isn’t good enough in Google’s eyes.

The New Year is a brilliant time to look at the content you have on your Copybook profile. Take a good hard look at your profile and ask yourself to be honest. Is this good enough? Did I really try to produce something unique and valuable to readers? Would a potential customer find what they are looking for on this profile?

If the answer is no, then now is the time to act. And below we have given you a few pointers to get started.

A Good Copybook Company Profile

What makes good profile content? A good profile should clearly depict what your company does and why you are best placed to serve a potential customers needs.

Beneath the Company name is where you include the subheading, this should be a brief overview of what your company does.  E.g. Logistical Handling Services for the Packaging Industry

Then follows an introduction. This should be no more than one or two paragraphs, giving an overview of the company, some background and its focus.

You could then out line your main products and services using a bullet point list. This makes it very clear to potential customers what you provide and can be backed up by additional content within the listing.

Finally, the main body of text should be around three to five paragraphs long, outlining the main products or services your company focuses on. Each section should have a relevant subheading, making the information clear to interpret and easy to find on the page.

Ending with a call to action, asking users to contact you and directing them how to do so, is always a good idea as it acts as an incentive to take action.

And of course, the most important thing is that the profile you are creating is UNIQUE.  Remember, rewriting is not unique, try and create something new. It may seem like more effort, but at the end of the day, the more time you spend on it, the more you will receive in return.
